Right now we are setting up demo server with Emerald. And we work a lot with this extension. And I should say, that I have never regret that all Emerald management is moved to fronted. In fact even more. It works quick, it looks amazing, it feels very intuitive at the same time incredibly flexible.

The mor I work with Emerald the more I like it. I truly believe that though we had one of the best Membership extension (Emerald 8 and Mighty Membership) I have to admit that we did not do anything better than this extension. I absolutely love its frontend management. And simplicity to use along with incredible powerfulness is awesome.
New Cobalt v 8.291 is here. This update has important security fix. Although it does not fix what was already affected but prevent from future issues. The problem was in creating folders inside uploads directory. Those folders was created with 777 rights which can cause some security issues. Please do not forget to reset all you folders inside uploads folder to 755.

The problem was that Cobalt create some folder with 777 permissions JFolder::create($path, 0777).
This update does not fixes folders that already was created with 77 rights. Please reset all folders to 755 in you uploads directory.

Emerald 9.58 - Joomla 3 series membership extension. This week we were working hard to make this amazing extension even better. Let me make some highlights.
Emerald 9 has DB structure completely changed, thus there is not update. Data have to be migrated.
We added Imports section into Emerald which will allow you to import your subscribers from any other Joomla membership extension. Right now we have Emerald 8 and Mighty Membership importer. But on your request we can add
This new release of Cobalt v.8.276 has Emerald 9 Membership integration revised. Everything has been checked and tested. It now works with new Emerald very beautifullly.
Another worth attention feature is new category parameter. In may override article default access level during submission. Lets say you have 3 categories. And all articles in category C you want to have special access and A, B public. This is what this parameter is for.

This week some tiny but very neat features are there in Cobalt 8.218 - Oldest Joomla CCK. Every week it become more and more mature.
It was long waited and finally implemented. You know that you can select more then one template how to show list of the records. And if you select more then one, Cobalt will draw list view switcher and allow user to change from table view to thumbnails or blog or Google map. By the way AFAIK Cobalt is the only CCK that let you do it.

Cobalt CCK 8.210 for Joomla 3.0-3.1 - tested is here. Usually we release updates every Thursday. But since Joomla 3.1.0 stable release we wanted to make sure before this Cobalt release that it will work with J!3.1.0. And here it is just like it was promised and expected. Update from 3.0 to 3.1 without any issue.
