duplicate content how to prevent that with router

i have 2 problems - cobalt 8 / joomla3 has in some cases duplicate contents , how can we prevent that thank to router please

-how to remove "category item" or item in url when sef rewriting is used

This is standard Joomla routing behaviour. If you what anything better or remove something from URL you have to use 3DP SEF extensions.

WE ARE NOT GOING TO IMPLEMENT NEW ROUTING.

We have found out that we cannot please everyone with routing in any case. Someone will need something new there. So we have quickest standard routing possible and good enough for SEs.

i think mijo sef has feature against duplicate content

i was concerned about this also, but when cobalt implemented rel 'canonical', this problem with duplicate content on different urls got solved. Example for Article List: ../hotels [link from Menu] and ../hotels/items/1-hotels [link withing Cobalt routing, same content] is ok for google because there is a tag [rel="canonical" href="/../hotels/items/1-hotels"] on both pages pointing to the same source page "../hotels/items/1-hotels"
