It is possible you have some notification from the other section. Notification center button shows number of all notifications. And this list shows only notifications of current section.
yes i noticed it already .. Was just confused since i expected the list to have ALL notifications. This behaviour is a little confusing in my opinion. When i clickrd on "notification center" only 1 article was marked unread.

May be by that time another article was already merked as read? For example you opened it in new window.
No actually it was in a different section ...
