Changing a file name of an uploaded file with Uploads field will not work. The name can not be saved. It generates an url which does not work...

Check the console to see the error, when you try to save the modified file name.

I am using Joomla 3.1.1 with latest Cobalt everything package

  • Make sure in Global settings the "Search Engine Friendly URLs" is set to yes

  • Upload a file with the uploads field and save the record

  • Edit now the record and change the Filename with the pencil icon

  • Try to save the changed name with the disk icon --> does not work

Check the console error message ...

It will show you a non existing URL ...

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) http://localhost//index.php/registry/edit/index.php?option=com_cobalt& ;task=ajax.field_call&no_html=1

It will work with the "Search Engine Friendly URLs" is set to NO
