Where to change comment text?

Try here:

YourType -> General Parameters -> Templates -> Comments (edit template button)

Edit Template (modal window):

General Parameter -> Elements -> Button Title

There is also the form title, if you need to adjust it, too.

Heads-Up: It does not have a pre-defined language constant. So, for multiple languages you might add and change the value in J! core language override manager. (also described in MintJoomla docs)

I have found where to change the language - language file :)

However, I now see that there is an odd " > just above the toggle the editor link. I've tried everywhere to find and delete this. If I look with firebug I see that it sits just below iframe but cannot seem to find the right file.

I also now see that the follow the comment tickbox is not there. As I haven't changed anything as yet, I'm not sure why it's missing, but I could have turned this off somewhere without realizing it. I just have no idea where to turn it back on again - I looked under type and under the comments template, but cannot seem to find a follow comment option.

I have found the follow issue - I was looking for follow, not subscribe, so that's resolved. The odd "> is still an issue, however.

i will try disabling the options to see if that changes anything.

I am using jce, which i've used all along. The problem does not occur in the back end though, so my logic is that it's to do with something happening on the front end that doesn't on the back. (I use the same default template for both)

in the meantime, i looked at page source. The " > appears at the end of the following code:

Though i can see it large as life, I have no idea where to find it. i've looked in tinymce, jce, comments template. i do have RS Firewall running as the site was previously hacked, so that's a not negotiable thing, and will try to look through their templates and post to their support as well.
