Stay on Same tab on Save

I have three tabs (groups) for my record submission. If I'm on the second tab once I hit "save" it goes back to the first (original tab). Is there a way or setting to have it stay on the tab I'm editing once I hit save.

Note: this is not the "save and close" setting under Submission Parameters. This is the "save" only button.

Joomla core backend does provide this functionality. Not sure how it is done...

Those are Bootstrap tabs. It does not have persistent states. So it is possible to do, but for that coockie have to be used and bootstrap tabs extended.

Would be a great improvement for UX. :)

BTW, does it apply to accordions / collapsable sliders as well? If possible, they should behave the same.

Yes it would be possible. But this what I would not do probably. I think that should be done by bootstrap team. This is feature for bootstrap.
