Hi,

I trying to build a Glossary. Problem is with the "Starts With" filter. I didn't get it for a while and I think most viewers on our website wouldn't either. I couldn't figure out why I was only seeing the A's and not the B,C,D's on the index until I clicked the "Starts With" filter. Can this be disabled so if I click the A records, the index button still shows C, D, E's available(clickable)?

Thanks,

Rick

Not a bad idea for certain use cases. Maybe a bit faster UX, then closing the previous filter each and every time.

On the other hand, it might imply to add multiple filters. Users might also be confused, if they want to see A,B and C. But every click in the index reloads the page and also resets the previous selection. So, what is more confusing...

Is it even possible to add multiple filters (i.e. multiple "Starts with", Tags, Users etc. ? I think there was an older discussion on filters with optional AND/OR search.

@Sergey
Whats your opinion?

I believe that for the sace of consistency it should work like it works. Otherwise will be hard to get if one filter works one way and another filter works differently.

But I have to admit that your suggestion is certainly hase use cases.

Agree.

I guess, it is possible to achieve this behavior by a custom markup layout? Or has it deeper dependencies incl. scripts?

Goal: Do not remove the other links from index letters. If a letter is clicked, remove any applied "Starts with" filter... apply the new one.

BTW, there is a small issue with the alpha index template parameters Link only used letters NO and Show Numbers YES. All tooltips show a Found 0:

cob_az_index_wrong_tooltip_zero

Shouldn't it work with "Show Numbers"? I mean, at least the letters with results should still display the correct count.

Or do I have to turn OFF the numbers/tooltip comepletely?

Hi,

I like the idea of not removing the other alpha links, if you could make it an option then others don't have to use it.

Thanks,

Rick

Cobalt calculate number in any case. So parameter is only about what and how to display.

Sergey Cobalt calculate number in any case.

So, it should display "Found 1" for letter T in my previous screenshot. But ALL links show "0" !?

Opcc! That line was commented in the code. Fixed now.
