Hello Guy

I have been asked that in a list page I change the listing order to be ordered by year (that is a field in the content type) but when I go to section it only show "most recent first" "last modified first" and "first modified first".

help please.

best regards,

Fabricio Daza.

Hello Sergey

thanks for the reply, yes I did that but the only thing that it does is to add the field as a menu item in "Sort by" menu and then in that menu I can sort the list

And what I need is to set the list to be sort by year of release and that sort to be by default.

is there a way to do this?

thanks alot.

fdaza And what I need is to set the list to be sort by year of release and that sort to be by default.

Very important feature. BTW, I mentioned it in the old forums and as an additional idea in this topic.

Excerpt:

pepperstreet => A custom field can be marked and displayed as sortable... but it can´t be selected in Section ordering parameter! This would help a lot and opens a lot of possibilties!!!

Thats very poor that you permit something to be sortable, BUT you dont then make it a parameter thats follows through to sort default list views. Why?

Also "sort by" column, sort as numbers and sort as text doesnt work properly. I have chapter codes 1.1.1, 1.1.2, etc 1.1.10 but it always puts 1.1.1, then 1.1.10, then the other ordinals. Sort as number should deal with this and put in the correct order.
