Would be nice if you can build a inqueries applicate for cobalt8 so the you can give possible to the listing owner to view his inqueries he received for his listing, something like you have in Notifications logs

brianpat Cobalt should have a central place like dashboard where you all section home page can be accessable.

What exactly do you want to see on such a multi-section dashboard? I think it really depends on the type of applications you have on your site. Should it include functionality and actions like the regular user's/section's homepages? Or just informative style like latest modules? If it serves like a general overview, like "what's going on" and "what's new"... it should be possible to build something with Cobalt features, J! modules and maybe multiple-component views as the last resort.

BTW, the actual Cobalt applications could be totally different in content, style and workflow. So, it might be hard to supply "1-dashboard-for-all-purposes".

jimie @Sergey I still think you guys should do this as a separate feature of Cobalt, I`ve made sure investigations about this and there is no joomla CCK which has a inqueries feature, this will be a great feature to have.

Sure. that is what I already mentioned and it is in our plans. Special dedicated feature to inquire cart of products. Those we are discussing is just a solutions you can use right now to get what you need.> jimie

To be able to charge customer per number of inqueries they receive or in order to read the inqueries they receive they should buy a subscription or so

Right now as a temporary solution we can add it to email field. Emerald restriction on number of inquires to send or receive.

Absolutely. That is nearly impossible to create universal and at the same time informative dashboard for mixed sections.

It is not possible to limit with Emearld by number ot emails(inquires) send by email field now. I am saying that I can add this to the field parameters.

But as I understand correctly you need solution where messages are stored somewhere else on the site and user may check those like Inquires Inbox.

In this case better to use Cobalt type as comment technique. In this case we can add restriction to limit number of received inquires. But restriction to send inquiries will work immeadiately with inquiry submission restriction.

Hello Sergey

What about in order the listing owner to read the inqueries received by visitor to be forced to buy a emerald subscription ?

For example:

He received lets say 50 inqueries, in order him to be able to read those he need to buy a emerald subscription with 70 inqueries pack and so on

rgds

In Cobalt type as comment variant it is already there. Just set access to inquire type with subscription in inquire type parameters.

In emerald you may set Usage count option to 70 and in access to view restriction set Count usage or Count limit to YES. That is it. Subscription will expire as soon as user reads 70 inquires or read any inquires 70 time depending on Count usage mode.

I think the "Count Limit" parameters, especially in combination with Emerald need documentation. I mean in style of "How to" or "Examples". It is very hard to understand. Thanks in advance!

Hi Sergey, I still did not get it completely on how to do it? You set Cobalt type as comment in type which acts like a comment. Comment will be always seen by end user on front end. How can you make the comments invisible to others, but visible to author? Can we use cobalt type as comment for inquiry in addition with Komento comment?

No. There is only one comemnt sysyem per type. So you choose Komento as a comment then you have to use parent/child fields for inquiries.

I have never used the parent/child field ever before. How can I use it? is there any example or doc?

A different use case, but maybe my first 2 comments over here can be of any help.

(Text formatting is a bit strange, because of import from AngelDesk forum... I will try to re-format it for better readability)
