When copying a type, it copies the fields, but not the groups. It is odd, since when you open the copy, the groups show on the field list. Unfortunately, when you open the field detail or the manage groups, they are not present. Can you fix this?

Sergey,

This copy issue seems bigger than I originally realized. My goal was to create type and section entries to act as templates that could be copied and customized as needed. My hope was that I would get an complete and working copy of the setup. Unfortunately, while you did fix the groups issue, I ran into a bunch of other settings that do not copy and it takes an enormous amount of time to find and enter these settings.

This included most of the parameters in the main type and section, and it also included the parameters in each of the individual fields and parameters in all of the various templates. This is an enormous task for even a relatively simple setup, if customization has been done.

Is it possible to fix this, so that the copy includes all of the template and parameter settings?

Kent

Kent, did you look into the "Pack" functionality of Cobalt? This can work like a template and you can easily install it into a new project including all respective files (templates).

I was aware of it, but had not looked into it. In this case, I want this to work on a single site. This is a good idea though for moving this from site to site. Thanks!!

I wanted to let you know that the copy seems to be working much better for types and sections. The underlying attributes are copying correctly, except for a few. On Section these are not copying... * Rating type (stars) * Field exclusions on the Record List * Some of the Record Elements

I think that Types is perfect from what I can tell. Thanks! Kent
