Will my Co7 Forum Pack be override when I install Co8 Forum Pack?

Hi,

I have installed Co7 Forum Pack on my Co8 (I've updated Co7 to Co8). And it seems that I have to update the Forum Templates to Co8's compatible.

What should I do?

If I install Co8 Forum Pack, will this override my existing Forum Pack?
Are there any update template package for Forum templates?

note:

As far as I know, when I install forum pack, it will override the existing.

It will override templates but now there are only 4 templates. Category index, records list, and record and commets. All other templates only transfer template configurations. Because now we have system where you can set different template settings for different section or type.

But in general it will install new section.

I think only way to nicely update is to install this new pack and move old topics to new section. Because we will also release updates. And updates will contain important things. It will be easier to update later.

How to make sure that the new section will have different section ID from the existing? I have an experience where the new section override the existing (on Co7).
How to move the old topics (include the comments) to the new section?

Just install it. It will be first install so it will create everything new.

MAKE A BACKUP

a) Change section_id for records in js_res_record

b) Delete all categories of just installed section and Change section_id in _js_res_categories

c) Change section_id in js_res_record_values

d) Change section_id in js_res_comments

Look through other table and change section_id everywhere.
