Image field select from folder (see pics instead of filename)?

When I use image field and I opt for selecting image from a folder, the user gets smth like this:

Could it be possible for the user to actually see the picture and click on it for selecting, rather than list of filenames?
Reason is, nowadays many people take photos via their phones and don't really "rename" them (on most phones I don't think it's even possible)

Anyway
I don't talk about complicated file managers or whatever extensive solution to upload.
Just to see the photo to be chosen.
