Hello,

How can I change the author avatar please? In my configuration, I have set community profile to com_cobalt and I need to change the default avatar of the author to add the logo instead:

Where and how can I change it please?

Currently, your default avatar is coming from "Gravatar" online-service. This is an extra option in Cobalt global config.

What logo are you talking of? Your site logo? Or do you want the author to have his own avatar/logo ?

If you don´t need a big profile/community extension like...: - CommunityBuilder (CB) - JomSocial (JS) - EasySocial (ES)

... the only LITE alternative could be Easy-Profile by JSN. It is available as FREE and PRO version. It seems JSN is going to make it a real community extension in the future... Recently, I saw an activity-stream screenshot on twitter.

Anyway, there is a problem to solve:

Easy-Profile is not yet supported by Cobalt! I mean, there is no community-integration file in global config. I thought, there was an official workaround: JSN provides a JomSocial-Bridge, which should make it work with Cobalt's JomSocial setting, but it simply does not help here. Cobalt throws an error message, if JomSocial component is not installed!

@Sergey - Maybe change this message behavior for JomSocial integration? To use JSN-Bridge? - Or maybe better: Direct Support for JSN Easy-Profile.

Thanks again @pepperstreet for these detailed information, in fact, I am not providing any community to this website as it is a simple yet dynamic tour operator website powered by default Cobalt features. However, I forgot that my problem was quite simple, I needed just to add the author email to Gravatar and add the logo to this profile and the result is this one:

Just the exact result that I was expecting, thanks for this hint, maybe without your initial explanation, I would not have notice this simple solution.

If you want to use Cobalt only, with 1 owner/admin… without the need for a Gravatar account…

you could also replace the the default GIF avatar image in Cobalt component folder -> images.

BTW, thanks for reminding me on Avatars and Cobalt in general. Going to write an idea topic for Easy-Profile ;-)

I have created an Idea topic.
