Hi,

I am having issues with the latest version of Cobalt (8.740). I am unable to save a(ny) place with the geo field. Reinstalling C8.735 fixes it.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Best regards, Jeff

Jeff,

i just tried to save a location and it was (the saving) working.

I placed a marker on the map, got the "Address from Marker" successfuly, while "Marker from Address" gave an error message "Geo location not successful. Reason: REQUEST_DENIED".

Saving the record worked.

Thanks for trying. Have you tried just typing in a place with the autocomplete field?

What do you exactly mean with autocomplete field? I use the normal geo field like this:

The Problem is, that "Marker from Address" is not working and gives the "Geo location not successful. Reason: REQUEST_DENIED" error message. Therefore i had to put the marker manualy, then adjust it accordingly ... but saving later worked.

Under Map - Enter a city If you start typing in a location Google will Autofill the list. Pick anything from the list and save the record.

I only use the Enter a city field in all my forms, because it is the simplest and fastest way to enter and save places.

Ahh, I see ...

Here, if i enter something in the field, nothing happens ... no Google suggestions, therefor it does not save the location. I tried it with Chrome and Safari.

Yes & thanks. When I revert back to C8.735 all seems to be working again. So, what code is responsible for this to malfunction. Something in the Geo field or in Cobalt's core? Anyway, I stick with C8.735 until this issue is resolved.

I tested it. It saves no problem locally.

But what I note that no it REQUIRE API KEY. Looks liek Googl maps changed policy and you can only use it with API Key

https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key

It just doesn't make sense. Why does it work if I reinstall C8.735 ? Have you changed Google API in C8.740?

Jeff Have you changed Google API in C8.740?

i cannot be exact on this one. I keep no track from version to version only geerald list of features. But i do not know when it is done. I only know it is done after last update news on the site. When I publish it, I clear the list.

Sackgesicht I noticed a parameter in Cobalt configuration about the google API key.

Yes, this one is required now. Does not work any more without API key.
