Can I use cobal to extend users profile?

no, i wanted too, but with jomsocial you can add more fields

currently only seblod can do it

A.) Did you consider the J! build-in Profile plugin (it's de-activated by default). For simple extension not so bad. I have used it two times.

B.) There are some solutions in JED - Category - Authentication ...

C.) If you need more features or multiple profile types with extended management, you might have a look at Community Scripts like JomSocial and CommunityBuilder.

D.) You can also use a combination of J! core register... and an extra Cobalt Profile in a Profiles Section If you have a J! user menu, just add your Cobalt homepage link there). (related topic)

E.) Easy-Profile by JSN is now supported by Cobalt (see options for Community Integrations in Global config!). Pretty nice profile extension with extra fields, Avatar!, user-list and privacy features. All available in FREE version. Simply register to download. There is also a PRO variant with more features and SocialNetwork login!
