The release of Assassin’s Creed Jade, the upcoming mobile entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, has reportedly been delayed following significant changes at Tencent, the world’s largest video game company. After over four years of development and a beta launch in 2022, Tencent has removed hundreds of staff from the project and reassigned them to work on the new party game DreamStar, amidst growing cost concerns. No official statement has been made regarding the game's future.

Set in Ancient China during the Qin Dynasty in the 3rd century BC, Assassin’s Creed Jade will offer players the ability to create custom characters, with gameplay designed to mirror previous console releases.

Meanwhile, the next mainline game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, is set in Feudal Japan and is slated for release in 2024. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the studio behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, it was teased in a brief trailer during Ubisoft's 2022 showcase.

The most recent installment, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, received mixed reviews, with praise for its world design and stealth elements but criticism for its characters.

As of now, there is no confirmed release date for Assassin’s Creed Jade, though Codename Red is expected to launch on consoles by March 2025.
