I do not have emerald yet, but I am interested in something like this:

when a user create a cobalt record he has the possibility to purchase a emerald subscription, doing so make automatically featured for xx days the record which the user is being publishing.

the possibility to purchase the subscription should be automatically visible immediately after that the cobalt record has been published.

something like this is or would be possible?

I think it is already possible. You may restrict make featured. This means that user who have subscription may make articles featured. But he is doing it from article control menu. He will see there not only edit, delete but also make 30 days featured. In addition you can create success article creation landing page and there describe all the posibilities.

I see,

but what I'd like to do is give my users the possibility to purchase a subscription to make featured just 1 article and not all the articles they want

eg. a user publish a record (eg. an event) with cobalt, then they can make it featured by purchasing a subscription

if this is not possible, would be instead possible to limit the number of records a user can make featured after purchasing a subscription?

this is possiblу with Count limit mode. Set count limit to 1 and that is it. Call this subscription make one article featured. And after purchase user will be able to any his article featured but only one.

Still applicable for E9 ? Or is it a task for an action (SQL action?)

Yes it is applicable for Emerald 9.
