it would appear that when the new com_k2 restriction rule is installed I can not now also the default URL restriction

I have some K2 categories I want to restrict access to, but other I want to not restrict access to to the articles, only the download attachment (which I was using the standard restriction for before)

Yes, this is how it works. If there is no adapter found, default rule is used.

What I can do is to add file download restriction to K2 integration.

Do you have link to your site online? Please give me link to article with attached files, login details to access backend. And by Thursday (or even erlier) this integration will have that option.

ok, been going through the options and was wondering if it would be possible to have an option/check box maybe to not make the category restriction count as a limit item.

I really like the way this works to limit access to the categories, but in my case, I am actually wanting to restrict access to the category but only have the limit apply to the file download. From my testing, at the moment accessing a restricted category counts as one of the limits before the user even gets to download the file.

My planned setup is something like;

Category 1

  • SubCategory 1-1

  • SubCategory 1-2

Category 2

  • SubCategory 2-1

  • SubCategory 2-2

Category 3

PLAN GROUP 1

Plan 1 (24hours, Limit: 1 File Download)

  • Access : Category 1, SubCategory 1-1, SubCategory 1-2 (+all downloads)

PLAN GROUP2

Plan 2 (3months, Limit: 11 File Downloads) Can Buy Plan 7

  • Access : Category 1, SubCategory 1-1, SubCategory 1-2 (+all downloads)

  • Access : Category 2, SubCategory 2-1, SubCategory 2-2 (+all downloads)

Plan 3 (6months, Limit: 18 File Downloads) Can Buy Plan 7

  • Access : Category 1, SubCategory 1-1, SubCategory 1-2 (+all downloads)

  • Access : Category 2, SubCategory 2-1, SubCategory 2-2 (+all downloads)

Plan 4 (12months, Limit: Unlimited File Downloads) Can Buy Plan 7

  • Access : Category 1, SubCategory 1-1, SubCategory 1-2 (+all downloads)

  • Access : Category 2, SubCategory 2-1, SubCategory 2-2 (+all downloads)

PLAN GROUP 3

Plan 5 (12months, Limit: Unlimited File Downloads, 5xMUA) Free Plan 7

  • Access : Category 1, SubCategory 1-1, SubCategory 1-2 (+all downloads)

  • Access : Category 2, SubCategory 2-1, SubCategory 2-2 (+all downloads)

Plan 6 (12months, Limit: Unlimited File Downloads, 10xMUA) Free Plan 7

  • Access : Category 1, SubCategory 1-1, SubCategory 1-2 (+all downloads)

  • Access : Category 2, SubCategory 2-1, SubCategory 2-2 (+all downloads)

Still trying to work out if this can be done

Can only be purchased with any PLAN GROUP 2 subscription, Free with PLAN GROUP 3

PLAN GROUP 4

Plan 7 (3months, Limit: 11 File Downloads)

  • Access : Category 3 (+all downloads)

Hope this makes some sense, if it is not possible, I will simply revert back to the basic URL restriction of K2 Download links and change the Plans for number of downloads limits only.

In Cross plan section, in requirement group, select plans of those group 2 and 3. And then only those who purchased those plans will be able to purchase this one.

Right now there is one count, but I believe I have to move that parameter to every restriction rule. I'll make it by next Emerald update on Thursday. Brilliant idea BTW! And Brilliants fit nicely with Emerald :)

Thanks Sergey, really do appreciate all the time and effort you are giving to me. I do hope it is not getting in the way or becoming annoying.

Look forward to the next update
