Hi everybody,

I am a web developer and I have a client who has a multilanguage website (Spanish and French). The client wants to be able to create a record in Spanish and when browsing the website in this language be able to read it in this language. Up to here, there is no problem.

The problem is that when you switch languages to French the record no longer exists and it redirects you to another part of the page (depending where your at).

I have tried duplicating the article and using the same alias for each but this doesnt seem to work.

My joomla structure is the following:

MENU:

Spanish - Inside I have different menu items, for example: Menu Name: * Activities-es * Item 1-es * Item 2-es

French - Inside I have different menu items, for example: Menu Name * Activities-fr * Item 1-fr * Item 2-fr

Now comes my Cobalt structure:

Section: Section Name: * Events ES * Events FR

Inside each event I have the same categories but in their corresponding language as follows:

Categories for Events ES: * Category 1 ES * Category 2 ES

Categories for Events FR: * Category 1 FR * Category 2 FR

Last, the types. Here I have the types created in one language only: * Type 1 * Type 2

When I create a record from the frontend of the website while in Spanish this same article will not show in the French side and viceversa.

How can I do so that when I have an article in any language by just clicking and the language I want to see the article shows up in that language?

Thank-you very much.

Ther is no article aliasing yet in Cobalt. That simply means that you cannot tell cobalt which articles are the same article but different language. When you switch language you always will be redirected to somewhere elese but not to aliased article.

How does J! core article "association" work? Is it possible to have a similar feature in Cobalt9+ ?

Yes. The improved multiple language support is in roadmap.
