Hello, I think you can follow 2 different approaches. Either on template level, or on field level:

Custom record template

You have to read and understand the following docs/articles:

• Customize templates - General
• Customize article templates
• Generate meta data from Cobalt data
  (different topic, but gives an idea what is possible and how to get fields data)

Using a special field

• 3rdparty AddThis field by JoomBoost)

BTW, if you already use a certain content plugin, it might run in your existing text/textarea/html fields. But I am not sure about the end result, benefits or drawbacks.
