How do I adjust the "Edit" button on a template layout?

The default Records templates (table) allows users to edit any record listed; however, the user must hover the mouse over to display the cog/gear/Edit icon. Is there a way to change this via the Cobalt settings or do I need to create a custom template for this?

As far as i remember it, there is no configuration for the behavior and appearance (except for adding/removing certain actions)

So, it turns out to be template work. BTW, there was already a similar question in another topic. Can't recall the title and URL, sorry.
