adding attachments with Internet Explorer

I'm using Internet Explorer 9 and when I have an attachments field in my record submission template, I click "Add Files" and nothing happens. When I do it in Firefox or Chrome, the file selector comes up. Is there any way to get it working for IE? I also tried it with IE8 with the same results.

Could you check javascript console in IE. Are there any errors?

I don't see any messages at all in the console, which is quite odd. I did some playing with templates and I found that it does work with the Protostar template included with Joomla 3 but not the Beez3 or Atomic templates so it appears to be template related but even the default Joomla templates are causing a problem in my case.

This is weird.

Check how jQuery is loaded. Make sure it is loaded before mootools and after that no other jQuery instance is loaded.

Did you manage to see the same behaviour there? I'll start digging and check the order of things loading as you suggest.
