This is difficult topic. It is not hard to update. But I think it is not yet time for that. It should be suported by Joomla core.

But you can of course change templates and layouts.

Thanks for the answer Sergey, I totally understand that you have to go in line with Joomla core even if they are pretty slow with some upgrades. Then I know that we have to upgrade by ourself.

Joomla 3.2 finally includes BS v2.3.2 !

Alpha and realease Infos here. AFAIK, J!3.x will stay with BS 2.x for the whole LTS life-cycle!

If you want to use BS 3 for your main template and frontend, you might edit and adjust Cobalt templates. Hopefully, it does not interfere with Cobalt functionality or other scripts etc.

Bootstrap migrator and cheat-sheet ;-)

No doubt, the BS 3 responsive grid features are superior. I guess, the only reason to switch.
