I am attempting to secure different sections to be accessed only by certain user groups. I can see the options in the permissions area of the section which allows you to set the Create, Delete, Not Allowed and JACTION_EDIT_STATE does JACTION_EDIT_STATE refer to view?

I'm assuming if I leave permissions on the category level as just inherit across the board and set them at the section level they will inherit these permissions down to the records, I can't seem to get that functionality to work down to a record level, when I hit the record I see "you have no rights to view this page"

Note that standard permission parameters do not work in Cobalt. those are there but not yet functional.

Is there a workaround to this? Do I need to use an alternative permissions system to get this functional or do you have a lead on where to start on getting standard permissions working?

Ross,

depending on your requirement, you will find SECTION,TYPE and FIELD settings.

You can restrict a whole SECTION

see also the submission parameter under TYPE settings

or even the field specific settings

Because I will forget and need this reference in the future, this error can be caused when you link directly to a record and you've set the record permissions in the special fields tab to another group.
