Protostar template:

Tried it on Default Markup template. Collapse was no problem, but there seems to be an** issue with inner DropDown menus. They are always expanded? ** White arrows are still visible. The open/close toggle and class changes seem to work... i can see them in firebug. Can´t localize or solve the issue for now. Also tried to update the underlying bootstrap to latest version 2.3.2.

BTW, i can see no obvious JavaScript errors, nor conflicts.

Also tried to update the underlying bootstrap to latest version 2.3.2.

Causes more errors. AdvancedSearch icon disappears after mouse hover! Main menu collapse button works only 1 time! So, no option to update bootstrap in J! core.

So, no option to update bootstrap in J! core.

This is BTW terrible Joomla minds to implement something. Instead of using bootstrap as external library and build JUX upon that, they created their own version. So update of bootstrap will destroy other things. And update bootstrap in Joomla not easy because all patches have to be applied.

Unfortunately I was never heard there. And my voice just like noise of leaves in the tree.

Great metaphor, I suffer with you. And i know what you are talking about! (J! backend: the left filter position underneath the left sidemenu is a joke, IMHO)

Do you have an idea why the dropdowns are always expanded?! The markup seems to right, and the classes are updated/toggled in firebug. A script conflict? I see no errors.

Right. And menu element deletion if joke of jokes :)

May be

<div class="clearfix"></div>

in menu. Line 447 in markup template.

why it is not updated?!?!?

I told you already. Since they modified it now they have to modify every next version of Bootstrap. We will get to the same problem of Mootools. It is when they could not update to 1.2 for years. That is because of poor architecture.

Currently it seems to be a good idea to remove J! core Bootstrap JS and CSS in frontend !?! Maybe those issues are gone when J3 gets LTS? But will it stick with BS2. BS3 is under heavy development... maybe a never-ending story!

BTW, did you have a look into other template frameworks? It seems, they all seem to ship there own Bootstrap files in a subfolder. Also some extensions. I know, you always want to use as many core features and resources as possible... but is it really possible? Maybe they manage to switch to the latest BS.v2 until J3.5 ... but then it starts over again with BS v3 and its subsequent updates...

What about shipping latest Bootstrap v2 with Cobalt? Or as a system plugin? Optionally unset/remove JUI core bootstrap files ... and load latest stable files in frontend.

My latest tests with Joomla3 "nightly build": **No success **:-(

As mentioned before, it is updated to BS 2.3.2

Similar issues like with Joomlart T3 V3, which uses own bootstrap folder with BS 2.3.2

Please, can you also test with latest Joomla "nightly build" ?
