difference between hidden and unpublished records?

I know there is a difference... and I know probably digging into the old resources forum I coudl find some info about it. Maybe cleraing it also here would be useful to others.

Published property of the article is accessible only for moderators who can publish/unpublish. Author canot change this property. But hidden is accessible only to author. And even moderators cannot change it. Hide - is the same like unpublish but from article author perspective.
