I thinka responsive template for category index would be useful, I know the current cobalt7 one is built with width in %

but still and small screens it break the layout

Is this a screenshot from C7 ? What main J! template do you use? BTW, you posted in C8 forum.

As far as C8 and a proper main template is used, it should move every category to a new "row". All my categories have a "span3" CSS class. They move in a top-to-bottom order.

I tried Cobalt 8 cindex default template, is responsive, but it has not the subcategories dropdown menu (like cobalt 7 ) is there any technical reason why it cannot have it? it was a nice feature

It has submenus but not collapsable. Check template settings.
