Steps to reproduce.

use field_cobalt.audio.v.8.24

upload audio to record

save and close

edit record

delete audio by pressing the red "x"

save and close

audio file still present in default audio folder on server.

When deleting audio via edit record audio should be deleted from the server.

Please fix.

Did you try removing it with the clean file tool under tools?

The audit log has a function to "recover" wrongly deleted files, so they should not be removed from the server. When you delete a file it will still remain on the server to give you the opportunity to recover it.

The table #__js_res_files has a column "saved", which holds info about the file.

0 = uploaded but not properly saved with the record

1 = saved

2 = deleted

Not sure in the moment if the "clean file" tool also processes files with status = 2 ...

Do you have records in __js_res_files table that link to not deleted files?

By the way file clean tool does not delete deleted files. It only clean some uploads that was not saved.

I have added new tool to clean up deleted files to next tools plugin version.

Do you have records in __js_res_files table that link to not deleted files? Im not sure. I used the audio upload to upload and used that to delete, so whatever your code does is what I have,.

Im not sure. I used the audio upload to upload and used that to delete, so whatever your code does should be there.

Understanding the behaviour of the audit log, removing files from the article, does not mean to "delete" them from the server, since they can be recovered through the "recover" function of the audit log.

Actually, this is one of the exceptional features of Cobalt 8, which makes it so outstanding.

As Sergey stated, there will be a tool to remove/clean the server from those "removed" files.

I'm sorry I can't seem to find it. Is it something I need to add from the MintJoomla site or is it in the latest update of Cobalt?

I see clean files under tools in cobalt, but that doesn't clean/remove files that have been deleted from a record.

What am I missing??

Do you see anything like this?

I do not see that. I just see the previous "Clean Files" that was always present in the tools. I ran the previous "Clean Files" (that i do see) but it does not clean the deleted files. I do not have the new "clean delete files" icon.

Clean deleted is the new name I have just changed. How do you know that it did not cleaned deleted files?

I looked in the audio folder I have setup (custom path) counted the files before I ran the tool and then counted again after the tool. I should only have 8 files in the folder (as only 8 are in use and the others have been removed by the red X) I had 31 files in the folder. I ran the tool and still had 31 files in the custom path.
