disable section from search plugin

Is there a way to make a section not show up in the site search plugin? I have three sections and I only want one of them to show up there.

You are talking of the J! core search?

You can set the exclusion in the Cobalt Search plugin.

Extensions -> Plug-in Manager -> filter for "Cob" or something similar…

The plugin is called "Search - Cobalt".

Click name to edit it...

Have a look at tab "Basic Options".
