As far as I can see Membership and Emerald rely on time periods that always begin with registration date. There is no option to create time frames that relate to the calendar year/month/week. Or which ends on the last day of the current year/month. etc.
Maybe this can be implemented by:
- more optional time-periods (see attachment)
- custom time-periods
- set an additional expiration timeframe from NOW/START to week/month/quarter/year or custom date)
Typical usecase:
A local sports-club has memberships for a full calendar-year. e.g. 2012
No matter when I joined the club... my membership expires on 31 Dec of the current year.
In addition, I could get a reduced price, if I joined in the second half of the current year.
Example options from CBsubs (Joomlapolis):
IMHO, a really good collection, though it is pre-defined. Makes sense for many real world applications. It would make Emerald/Membership more complete.
Thanks for listening.
