I have a linux server with ffmpeg at /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg but when I create a record the jw player states "error loading player, no playable sources found". Please advise.

That does not relate to ffmpeg I thing. conversion is processed on upload.

If you turn ffmpeg off everything works fine? Try other fields like upload to check if upload works at all.

I turned off ffmpeg and wav files still do not playback. I'm also getting this error when inside the audio field parameters in the backend. Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/skitbits/public_html/audio/libraries/cms/html/select.php on line 557

I'm using joomlas default protostar template, Joomla version 3.2.3

No wav files wil not work. ONLY MP3. It procedd ogg file for some browsers. But you can upload only MP3.

Okay thank you. Is there a way to change players, instead of the jw player, can I install others?

Yes but you will have to create your own field custom output template.

So I found the output file and at the bottom is the player script. I would like to use a soundcloud type player. Would I just paste a different player script at the bottom of the output file?

I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to coding.

This depends how player consumes data. Try uit this way. Do not forget to include JS and CSS files of that player.
