How to set params for templates ? - Cobalt 8

Hi, How can we set params of cobalt templates ? On Cobalt 7, I could clic on template name to set params : format, list elements, record elements, avatar, rating and so on ...but here, I don't find how to set those params !! it's really different and I'm a bit lost. Thanks

In cobalt 8 you set parameters per template per section or type. this means that the same templet may have different parameters for every section. You can configure it in type or section parametrs.

Why?

before you had to create new template for new section just because you need one tiny parameter be different and you do not change code of themplate. That created a lot of templates.

Now you may have one template and configure it diferently for every section or type.

It was heavely discussed during develpment and all agreed that this the way to go.

You will get the idea and benefits after using it for a while. Believe me! It is super handy to re-use the same template with multiple settings. Otherwise you would end-up with many many copies of template files.

BTW, this also applies to template override parameters in modules and fields. You can select a template there, and simply hit the settings/config button without affecting other parts of your site.
