Hi!

I've recently updated to the current Cobalt Version (Cobalt v.8.531 Stable). Now it has occurred, that people which I had set as moderators in a section cannot edit Records anymore, until I have set the Type moderator level to their user group. That results in the problem, that I can give Moderator Access only to a certain Member Group and they have full access to all moderation features. I cannot give a certain member few Moderator rights in the front-end Moderator settings unless the member is in the right Member Group (and not below).

In the Cobalt vVersion I used before, one from January 2014, it did work.

May be the problem is another: it may be that only Members of the Type Moderators Group defined in the back-end can see the gear which is the button to edit an article. And all groups which are below the set Member group who were given certain Moderator rights just can't see the edit button (gear).

Either way, it's a bug and needs to be fixed :)

Sorry, I've given the wrong version information. I'm using Cobalt v.8.539 Stable, therefore it is the latest.

  1. I looged in as Support
  2. Changed global moderator in Cobalt parameters to Support user
  3. Created new user Sergey123:sergey123
  4. Set this user moderator for Anfragen & Informationen für alle Mitarbeiter and gave him deleet and edit access
  5. Loged in as Sergey123 in the other browser and successfule edited Begleitung Umgangskontakte 1021 -- Geier gesucht article.

All works fine to me.

Thanks for Testing. I have checked my Test User Account and for the Category "Gutachten" and the Type "Termin", in the type settings there has to be set the right User Group "Mitarbeiter", to allow the Users to edit the certain Type "Termin". But when you set the moderator group to "Mitarbeiter", they can also delete and unpublish items. Which is not in my interest.

I have specified certain moderator rights for different users in the front-end, but it doesn't seem to work as long as Type Moderator Group is not set to the group in which the user belongs. I do know this worked in previous versions :) The problem is: the Users can't see the gear to edit Records, I don't know if the function itself does not work.

May be you can check again? Or is it possible that the Sub-categories in "Gutachten" are not affected by Moderator settings from their parent category?

This problem was introduced in V8.531 and is still there up to now. See also here I would suggest to downgrade your version and wait for a problem fix (this is what i actually did) It seems it is also depends on sections. Some work, some not ... have not yet fully investigated the issue.

Since I could not reproduse it here is what I need.

  1. Name or ID of the section you have this problem in
  2. Name or ID of the type in that section
  3. Login credential of the user that go not see gear button
  4. Link to that section on frontend.
  5. Setup everything so that it works like you explain.

Okay. How can I post secret information? In the old support desk it was quite easy but now I can't find it. Do I have to set it as "Private"? Can you see it then?

Yes. Right under the comment text input there are 2 checkboxes Follow and Private. Little bit above Reply button.
