Cobalt standalone

Cobalt itself does not create the user's avatar image. Except for the default guest thumbnail. You may have noticed your own "Guest" image in this forum ;)

Additionally, global config allows to enable Gravatar support.

gravatar

Which results in a geometric pattern based on your email. Or it displays your Gravatar.com image according to your settings over there.

Cobalt & 3rd-party Integration

See global config. There are several options for 3rd-party community/profile extensions:

(Cobalt), JomSocial, CB CommunityBuilder, EasySocial, JSN Easy-Profile

integrations

PS: If you don't need one of the big players... but want local image upload, you should have a look at JSN Easy-Profile. It is available as free and pro version. Plus an extra Community addon.

Hi,

if i want to able an image upload for the user's profile i can't use gravatar.com

I don't try jsn easy profile. But i find Easy Profile ( http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/clients-a-communities/user-management/25378 ). It's the same?

Thanks

Exactly. Just register on their product page. Go to menu "downloads" and get the free version. The FREE version allows simple image upload in registration and edit profile.

jsn_easyprofile_register

Default image and sizes can be set in components parameters. See edit field "Avatar":

jsn_easyprofile_edit_field_avatar

I think PRO version supports even interactive crop and web-cam!

FREE version has also features for User Lists:

jsn_easyprofile_menuitem_types

BTW, there is a similar extension called UserXTD - link in JED - homepage
Heads-up: It was opensourced to the public on GitHub. Although it was a promising project, I am not sure about the future. So, JSN might be the more reliable and modern solution.
