the basic idea is to have the option to install a "records module" on a site (maybe even without having to install the whole cobalt component) and be able to retrieve records to display in the module from another site, connecting to another database on the same server or even to a different server
I don't know how useful this feature would be to other users, it certainly would be to me as I have clients with more than one site who would like eg to show blog posts or events of one site across their sites network
this feature was developed easily for mighty resources from a freelance programmer, so maybe it would not be difficult for cobalt too
