QR code feature in geo field: what's for?

If you read a QR code wich is a link, it will take u to that link.

If the QR code is a map location it will open browser/app that will show u the location in a map, on the device that reads the code

this I understand,

but given that when seeing that QR code the person is already on the page

he is already seeing the map displaied there

and in case of the link he can click on the hyperlink to follow it

I am sure I am misunderstanding the use of a QR code... as I thought that it

was being used only eg. on paper magazines so that mobile devices could

use it as a link to a website page
