@sergey - how about cobalt option to build a composite meta description similar to the Record composite title?

something like:

This is the listing for [TITLE] in [SECTION] including field [9] and [10]

I installed ITP meta (pro version)

but it seems that is not able to create automatically description meta tags as well as

og:description tags

I configured it carefully after reading the documentation, but it just doesn't work

anyone has been able to get it working correctly?

UPDATE:

ITP meta (pro version) is still not working for cobalt, plus it has other bugs to be fixed

the developer refunded me for now as he said he has no time to fix it quickly:

anyone interested in this plugin should write him here http://itprism.com/contact

and tell him that he's intersted in the pro version for cobalt, this shoul help to have the plugin fixed more quickly

Do you have any infos, if it needs an update for Cobalt8/Joomla3 ?

I sent an email to the ITP developer personal address one week ago,until now still no reply. I have also no more access to his support forum and contact form because by refunding me he also cancelled my pro membership. Maybe it's better to start lookng for something else... What a pity this developer doesn't realize how many new clients he could earn!

yeah... I wanted to contact them but I couldn't find any contact information in their website, I tried to register and post on their forum, but the forum may be reserved to active clients or theie registration process has some problems because I cannot post anything

given that there is no 3d party tool which seems able to do it, wouldn't it be an idea to develop something like this yourself? I mean something able to auto-fill in at least the description metatag by taking the first x words from a textarea or html field ?

It is not easy as it may look. When you know your type and structure that may be clear, but if I want to add featurte, I ave to think aout its universality. It should fit any idea. What if someone do not want this HTML field to get into meta?

This leads to whole set of new parameters for every field and for type and section in general.

I do plan to enhance SEO features for CObalt 9. But unfortunately I will not be able to add anything like this to Cobalt 8.
