After a user logs out and another user logs in on the same computer, the filter settings of the first user were remembered and applied for the second user

we store in in Joomla JSession object. It simply means that Joomla does not reset session fully on login/logout. I do not think we can affect it unless we write plugin which wil clean session on user login or logout.
