Upload image in frontend not working properly

You should first update both your Joomla and PHP and check if problem still exists.

On my sites where I use Cobalt, I have latest Joomla installed with PHP 7.4.27 and have no problems.

7.0.33 is very old version. check here php roadmap https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php even 7.4 receives Security fixes only, but soon we will have new Cobalt for J4 which will support PHP 8. I am not sure maybe current version also can run on PHP 8, I have not tested.

So I am waiting for end of winter with big hopes, I have some projects which I want to do with new Cobalt and while working on them I am pretty sure I will get some more feature suggestions.

There is no more news then this, which I already posted in blog comments. I have not contacted Vasiliy last time. I will try to reach him via VK and get some news.

hmmm ... end of winter ... did he specify the year?

Most common reason why files are not saved is permissions on uploads folder and its subfolders.

I did not see anything from the announced "discussion" as well. BTW, it seems that the latest installer of Cobalt 8 can not be installed on a new installation. It always stops with a message "Column 'section_id' cannot be null"
