1.

The default month view is always August. Even after posting a new event when I return to the calendar month view it is showing August not October. How can I make the default view the current month?

2.

After I installed the calendar plugin there is a Date and Time field already made. It will post the event to the calendar ok. I use it for single event in one day.

I made a second Date and Time field in the same submission form (to give a choice for a ranged event). On the submission form I fill the new date/time field (not choose a date in the original date/time field), the new event is not showing in the calendar but it is in the list. How can I make the event show in the calendar if the user chooses to use the 2nd date/time field?

3.

Is there a better WYSWYG editor for submission in the text box? You have it for the Section description.

The default month view is always August.

The pack is configured for demonstration purposes... i think you just have to edit the calendar template parameters.

Section -> Calendar -> General Parameters tab -> Templates (click respective edit button)

Remove fixed date... and set the start date to now. Save template:

The default month view is always August.

How can I make the event show in the calendar if the user chooses to use the 2nd date/time field?

This and other related features were already discussed in another topic. (i will open a new idea topic).

The (current) calendar templates allow only 1 date&time field as source. Only this selected date field is considered for the event time.

Currently, date ranges are set with a special field input template (see event date field parameters)

The default month view is always August.

How can I make the event show in the calendar if the user chooses to use the 2nd date/time field?

a better WYSWYG editor for submission in the text box?

Not for the current TextArea-field.

You may replace this field by the HTML-field type...

or add an additional HTML-field for your detailed full event view.

HTML-field allows to select a WYSIWYG editor of your choice... and many other options.

I re-installed latest Cobolt 8 and also calendar pack. The demonstration events and the others I added are still not showing in the calendar at all – month view or week view.

I deleted the extra Date/time field. Then I checked the settings again – this time I set the Date/Time field to use single_ date_ picker which was working at the start.

I then submitted new events but they still don’t show in the calendar month view or week view for October. Also demo events are still not showing.

I have attached images of the Calendar template settings and also of the field settings.

Do you need access to my site to check it?

I figured out my problem - sorry to take up your time with it...

I want to make the Calendar the home page, so in the Joomla menu manager I made the Calendar page my default page and unpublished the home page. When I did this the full url to the Calendar page is no longer showing in the address bar.

The url to the calendar with events showing is: http://mysite.com/index.php/events. When I make the Calendar the default page only this is the url: http://mysite.com/. The calendar is showing but there are no events listed.

So now I need to figure out how to have the calendar as the home page with all the events showing. Do you have any ideas?

Also why in the menu manager -> Menu Items

the descriptuion for Home is: “Articles » Featured Articles”

But for Cobolt menue items the description looks like this:

Cobalt 8 » List”?

Thanks for your help....

This is because we added it on purpose. In other places it looks like this.

Simply make it the default homepage in J! menu manager -> items.

There is no issue with display. You just change the homepage with the J! core feature. It does work as expected. I can see my calendar and events list.

If Calendar menu link is the "homepage", there is no trailing /events path in your SEF URL. This is the J! default behavior. This is also reflected in your main menu item. It simply points to your "Domain" with SEF enabled.

It is fully functional, but you "loose" the normal section/category name in your SEF URL. Maybe adding a proper pagetitle is a good idea. You can change it in your MenuItem parameters. You might also add your sitename via J! global config -> SEO.

Thanks for your help I really appreciate you taking the time with me. Also I’m sorry to take so long to reply but I have been checking and double checking everything because it should be simple and I don’t want to waste your time. However there are still problems and I’ve attached pictures to show you.

The first picture is with the Joomla default home page. You can see everything is as it should be.

The 2nd one is with the Calendar as the home page. After making the Calendar the home page, if I just refresh the screen it looks ok. But if I navigate away and then click the Calendar link again you can see the url changes and the events are no longer showing in the calendar page.

The 3rd issue I have is when a registered user makes only one post. When he clicks ‘My Events’ (user list view) it shows all events, not just the one he posted. It doesn’t matter which page is the home page.

Thanks again for your help

Confirmed! This is also the case on the official demo website. Logged-in as demoadmin and viewed MyHomepage: It shows 3 events in list... but ALL events in calendar. Hopefully this can be fixed/added.

I installed the latest version and can confirm my url problem is fixed. Now when I make the Calender the home page it shows all the events.

But now when I click the link (My Events) to just show the users events, it shows no events at all. Not the user or any others such as demonstration events.

I checked everything but can't see if it is me or is something new wrong?

Also when I try to run the 'reindex' tool I get this error above the blue reindex button. I cannot tell if the tool is run when I click the button.

Found and fixed. Wait till Thursday or edit views/records/tmpl/default_list_calendar.php lines 86 and 88 and change cat_id there to view_what and user_id.
