Hi!

Having subscribers from 2 countries:

Country 1 - Every subscription must have tax applied to the subscription price.

Country 2 - Every subscription must NOT have tax applied to the subscription.

Is this possible with Emerald ? Emerald 9 in this case...

thanks

This is very complicated. You have to have countries/taxes map and user have to select country before process to subscription.

Have you seen anything like this anywhere?

This is very unusual. usually subscription is a subscription. Like on github, rocketthemes, ... You chose monthly price and subscribe.

I do not think we will be able to add anything like what you want. My apologise.

It would not been so complicated if in my country the tax would apply to everyone.

The problem here is that for adding subscriptions for a different country... my goverment does not apply tax to exports... only internally.

As you can see it's a small thing that can really get a pain in the ass.

Sure, I know that. Simple make your subscription price taking in account the tax and possible expenses.

I was thinking something like at a language base.

Since i haven't yet purchased Emerald i don't know what features it has according to this problem.

If i could insert like 2 paypal buttons for each subscription (1 for each country) it would solve the problem but i believe that isn't possible.

When purchasing the subscription does Emerald verbose the price + tax ? or it shows the final price with tax applied ?

It's true that i can say the values is X$ with tax included, have to take a better look at it.

You can enter tax in PayPal plugin. But price will be shown without that tax. because you can have few payment plugins and everyone works differently. One have tax and other does not.

Ok thanks.

Anyway i believe you should implement register threw Emerald, this way the user could insert country on Emerald and would allow to insert tax per country.

Not insert the register/subscribe feature by core, but allow that option... so that the Emerald users that don't need it, are allowed to deactivate it.

thanks

It's something like Virtuemart register.. the user inserts the basic fields which is:

(* required)

username*

e-mail*

password*

company

Country*

City

address

Next step would be the user to press on activation link from e-mail.

When the user press activation link it opens the site with the subscription packages available.

This way we could define tax per country, saying this because without this most Emerald users will be limited to only use subscription in it's own country.

And of course, not implement this by core... just allow the Emerald user to choose if he wants to use Emerald Register or other ones like Joomla, CB, Jomsocial, etc.

Please consider.

thanks

Next step would be the user to press on activation link from e-mail.

When the user press activation link it opens the site with the subscription packages available.

This is how it already works. But simple with any other registration extension like CB or JS. You just need to redirect user to subscription page after confirmation. It does not matter what is the means of registration.
