This long anticipated version brings a lot of new features and improvements.

New features

Fields

Aditional fields is a big deal. This unique feature brings a lot to Emerald. Right out of the box you will get one free field Note

1. Note - this field allows user to attache their notes with the purchase. You can place few note fields like Tell us your custom requests and Instruct for sending you a product. Then as admin you will see those notes in sale descritpion.

2. UpSell - this field allows you to sell additional products or services with a Subscription Plan. For example you have plan "How to use GIT" for $50. And this is an online video course. You can create UpSell "Get a DVD for additional $7". Or "Get 3 hours of personal trainings by course author for additional $15", That is right. You can sell whatever. If user select this field, additional amount will be added to the payment.

   Upsell also have its own rule parameters. So if you sell aditional download for example, you can add a rule that will allow downloads of those files only if that option was selected.

3. CrossSell - this awesome field allows you to sell other Subscription Plans with discount along with current purchase. This is an amaizing opportunity to increase your revenue.

   How is that different from Cross Plan Discounts? Well, if you setup Cross Plan Discounts, user can get discount any time after he purchased one of the plans that allow discounts. But he also might never purchase anything, even if there is a discount.

   CrossSell offers discount only while your purchase. There will be no other chance to get another Subscription Plan with that discount later. So people are more tend to use it during Subscription.

4. Serial this field allow to attach coupon/serial/certificate/voucher number to subscription. For example you sell DVD Video Tutorials that are protected by serial number. And you generate number of those numbers and you want every user to get his unique number.

   Or you have shopping cart, and if user purchased subscription, you want to give him a coupon number or gift certificate that he can use in your shop to get discount.

And in general, fields have a deep integration into Emerald 10 and can accomplish almost any task. For instance, the things that before was not possible to sell access to specific article only. Right now if you want to do that you have to create new Plan for every article. With a additional field user could select article during purchase. Thus only one plan, but every purchase only give access to one article.

Restriction rules

Now you can add universal restriction rule to any extension. Before, if you have extension adapter, you could use only that rule and could no longer apply universal rules. Now you can select if you want universal rule and inside that rule you can select a component.

Improvements

You all know that cool feature of Emerald 10 that you manage everything on frontend. This is really cool feature, but there was some complications sometimes because templates are different and in same cases look was not great and even fail of JavaScript.

Right now we greatly advanced Emerald 10 templates, so that it should look perfect almost on every templates. We also paid a special attention to Yoothemes templates support. In Emerald 10 configuration you can select UI-Kit support and all Emerald should looks just fine on all Warp based templates.

And as this special template system is ready we will deliver Bootstrap 3 support following updates.

That is all I wanted to mention. It might look like not much, but actually there are a lot of small improvements and adjustments that make Emerald work better than before.
